Job summary

Saddleback College is seeking part-time, temporary faculty in chemistry to support a diverse student population in transfer, general education, and technical programs. Instructors will develop outlines, materials and lectures aligned with course goals and evaluate student progress through regular grading and reporting.

Applicants should meet one of several qualified pathways and be prepared to teach a range of delivery modes including online and off-campus classes.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Prepare and provide course outlines, materials and lectures supporting learning objectives.
• Assess student performance and maintain grade records.
• Report assessment data on student learning outcomes and program outcomes.
• Utilize assessment results to improve teaching and learning.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics and stay current in subject matter.
• Comply with college and district policies and deadlines.
• Complete required program/district reporting on time.
• Contribute to curriculum review and program development as needed.
• Deliver courses in day, evening, weekend, online and/or off-campus formats.

Education

Master’s in chemistry

Bachelor’s in chemistry or biochemistry AND Master’s in biochemistry or related field

Education and experience equivalent to (a) or (b) above
