Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician II for the Retail Pharmacy Shapiro. The role covers the Central Pharmacy, OR areas and IV rooms, with a part-time schedule of 32 hours per week and focus on accuracy, compliance and patient service.

The technician will support inventory, CSP preparation, and use of automated dispensing tech, barcoding, and computer systems, while upholding RESPECT standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; college training preferred.
• Requires MA Board of Pharmacy registration or Massachusetts Pharmacy Intern License.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from PTCB or exCPT.
• At least one year pharmacy-related experience; waivers for graduates of technician programs.

Responsibilities

• Support department operations and distribution functions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and accreditation standards.
• Assist with inventory control including receiving, stocking and replenishment.
• Prepare products for use, packaging, repacking, compounding and barcoding.
• Perform CSP preparation and participate in double-check processes.
• Deliver products to patient care areas while maintaining confidentiality and security.
• Operate dispensing technology (Pyxis, robotics, Verify) and other systems.
• Contribute to performance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to the hospital's RESPECT behavioral standards.
