Job summary

Merakey is seeking a part-time Certified Peer Specialist to join our Adult Behavioral Health team in Carlisle, PA. The CPS provides person-centered support and uses lived experience to model recovery and advocate for consumer needs in community settings.

The role involves travel throughout Cumberland and Perry Counties, working flexible hours Mon-Fri between 8 am and 8 pm, including Wednesdays. A salary of $15.50/hour is offered and benefits support is provided.

Qualifications

• Certified as a Peer Specialist (CPS) through the PCB.
• Lived experience in personal mental health recovery.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Active and valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in identifying and achieving personal recovery goals.
• Facilitate recovery planning using WRAP and Psychiatric Advance Directives.
• Model coping strategies and self-help techniques.
• Promote community integration: housing, social skills, and vocational support.
• Educate consumers on services and natural supports.
• Advocate for recovery-based services and reduce stigma.
