Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our busy Internal Medicine clinic in West Des Moines, IA. This part-time role (20 hours/week) supports adult patients with acute and chronic conditions, working with providers and a collaborative care team.

The position emphasizes patient relations, clinical assistance, care coordination, and education, with a schedule of Monday/Wednesday 8:30AM-5PM and Friday 9AM-1PM, at our Mills Civic Internal Medicine Clinic.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.
• Familiarity with EPIC EHR is a plus.
• Prior outpatient clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures.
• Room patients, record histories and vital signs, document in EHR.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure.
• Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate referrals and patient follow-ups.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
