Job summary

The City of Fredericksburg is seeking part-time Transit Operators with CDL to transport passengers across Fredericksburg and surrounding counties. You will operate on designated routes, maintain schedules and ensure passenger safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL license required; DOT medical card and able to pass DOT physical.
• Pass criminal record check and drug testing.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Prior bus driving experience preferred.
• Must pass random drug testing as required by DOT.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers on designated routes within the transit system’s service area, including the City of Fredericksburg and surrounding counties.
• Ensure safety of customers and equipment.
• Provide good customer service, oversee passenger safety and fare collection.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain bus schedule adherence.
• Assist passengers as needed and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Clean and fuel the vehicle and check equipment for safe operation.
