Job summary

Cowley County Community College seeks a part-time Bus Driver to provide safe transportation for students, staff, teams, and visitors from the Arkansas City Main Campus. The role emphasizes adherence to DOT rules, college policies, and consistent vehicle inspections.

The position requires a CDL Class B with a passenger endorsement, a valid DOT medical certificate, and a clean driving record. CPR is preferred, and mileage/logs must be maintained accurately.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement and air brakes.
• DOT Medical Certificate is required.
• CPR certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one year of bus driving experience or equivalent.
• Clean driving record in the last 15 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate College buses and passenger vans to transport campus passengers.
• Follow safety guidelines and college policies during vehicle operation.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate mileage logs and trip documentation.
• Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage or equipment.
• Coordinate with supervisor on vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
• Develop positive working relationships with students, staff, and visitors.
