Job summary

Seward County Community College is seeking a part-time bus driver to transport students to and from activities, maintain bus safety, and coordinate with campus staff. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a CDL with passenger endorsement, and a clean driving record, plus successful background and drug checks.

The driver will perform pre-trip inspections, ensure communications devices work, and assist with safe loading/unloading.

Qualifications

High school education or GED.
CDL Class A or B with passenger endorsement and a current Medical Examiners Certificate (physical card).
Good driving record and pass a background check and a drug test.

Responsibilities

Drives the bus for transporting passengers on scheduled routes to and from activities and events in a safe and timely manner.
Performs a comprehensive pre-trip inspection and reports conditions to supervisor.
Ensures communication device is functioning before each trip (cell phone).
Instructs passengers on safety guidelines and monitors behavior during transit.
Assists passengers with safe loading and unloading; maintains bus cleanliness and sanitation.
Supports routine maintenance and transportation to/from maintenance facilities.
Other duties as assigned.
