Position Summary

The Cashier is the first point of contact for customers, responsible for customer acknowledgment and promoting a positive company image through attitude, appearance, and concern for store profitability. Upholding Great Lakes Ace Hardware's Mission, Vision, and Core Values is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Register Operations: Operate cash register, process refunds, use loss prevention techniques, engage customers, and promote Ace Rewards.
2. Sales Floor: Greet customers, assist with merchandise, display and stock products, and help with special orders and color matching.
3. Additional Duties: Provide customer service in store services, maintain store cleanliness, handle complaints, and work flexible hours including weekends.

Relationships

Communicate professionally with customers, management, and staff.

Technology

Use of computer systems including Epicor.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• No prior experience necessary.
• Effective communication, basic math skills, and ability to follow instructions required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Regular walking, handling objects, and lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance. Moderate noise level, occasional work near moving parts or outside weather conditions.
