Job summary

Gulfport Sportsplex is seeking a part-time Cashier to join the Food & Beverage department in Gulfport, MS. The role involves handling cash transactions, assisting guests, and supporting concession operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include operating a cash register, balancing cash drawer, and ensuring proper food temperature during transport, with opportunities for growth within a championship level team dedicated to service and community enrichment.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate in a positive, friendly manner with patrons.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours) and regular attendance is necessary.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills and be a team player.
• Prior experience operating a cash register and balancing a cash drawer is preferred.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with outstanding customer service.
• Operate an electronic cash register and credit card machine.
• Perform basic mathematical computations.
• Balance drawer and manage daily income.
• Communicate with the public in a tactful, polite manner.
• Clean dining and concession areas and tables; assist in preparing and serving food items; fill condiment containers.
• Scrape and rinse dishes, load dishwasher and operate dishwashing machine; wash dishes, carts, pots, pans, and equipment.
• Take and record temperature of food to ensure proper temperature controls in the transportation of food.
• Assist in unloading, lifting, and carrying food and supplies from trucks and storage areas.
• Assist in party rentals: Guest check-in, party supplies and set-up.
• Alert management immediately for suspicious activity or intoxicated individuals.
• Alert management immediately regarding mistakes or adjustments to the cash drawer.
