Job summary

Price Rite of Bethlehem is hiring a Part Time Cashier/General Clerk. You will price, stock, and rotate merchandise, maintain clean departments and deliver friendly checkout service to our customers.

The position requires strong English skills, basic math, cash handling, physical stamina to stand, lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, and adherence to safety and dress code policies. Flexible part-time hours include days, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, and understand English.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to make change with U.S. currency.
• Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to adhere to health, state and federal regulations.
• Ability to operate equipment such as slicing machines.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, push, pull and lift up to 25 lbs., occasionally 75 lbs.
• Provide customers with superior service.
• Maintain neat appearance and dress per policy.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of products.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to cooperate with others.
• Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items.
• Ability to meet schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Provide accurate, friendly checkout service and accurate price changes.
• Check products and rotate stock and ensure QA standards.
• Operate cash register and handle payments and provide correct change.
• Follow approved procedures for receiving, coding, dating, storing and restocking items.
