Job Overview:

Provides prompt and friendly service to customers and assists them when necessary. Operates a cash register and performs related duties.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
2. Greets customers in a friendly manner across the store.
3. Operates cash register accurately, scans products, redeems coupons, handles transactions, and issues receipts.
4. Organizes merchandise and assists customers in locating items.
5. Addresses customer questions and concerns, following up as needed.
6. Follows policies on sales of tobacco and liquor, and complies with local, state, and federal guidelines on WIC and food stamps.
7. Knows item lookup numbers, department codes, and features.
8. Stocks, faces, rotates merchandise, and maintains store cleanliness according to standards.
9. Reviews weekly store ads for price changes and sales.

Job Requirements:

1. Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
2. Capable of understanding verbal or written instructions and requesting supplies.
3. Visual acuity from close to distance with depth perception and field of vision.
4. Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
5. Good judgment for situations with minimal supervision.
