**Job Overview:**
Provides prompt and friendly service to customers and assists them when necessary. Operates a cash register and performs related duties.

**Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:**

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner, whether in the designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Operates cash register accurately, scans all products, and handles transactions including cash, checks, EFT, and in-store charges.
• Redeems promotional coupons, food stamps, WIC checks, rain checks, and issues receipts and coupons.
• Organizes merchandise in carts and assists courtesy personnel as needed.
• Answers customer questions and follows up with appropriate personnel.
• Follows policies on sales of tobacco and liquor, and complies with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding WIC and food stamps.
• Knows product values, lookup numbers, and features.
• Stocks, faces, and rotates merchandise; maintains shelves and store appearance.

**Job Requirements:**

• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and handle basic arithmetic involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies.
• Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with depth perception and a broad field of vision.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
