Job summary

Senior Helpers of Cerritos is seeking a compassionate part-time caregiver to provide one-on-one personal care in clients' homes, helping them stay safe and independent. The role emphasizes caring for adults with dignity and respect, with flexible hours and a focus on meaningful daily activities.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of personal care experience, be able to complete HCA registration and Livescan, and provide a negative TB test. Driver preference noted in the listing.

Qualifications

• You are passionate about helping others.
• You enjoy customer service and communicating with clients.
• You want to help your community and make a difference in someone’s life.
• Ability to complete State required Home Care Aide (HCA) Registration and Livescan fingerprinting before orientation.
• You can provide a current negative TB test.
• You must have at least 1 year experience assisting adults with personal care, including diaper changes (can include family members, facilities, or in-home care).

Responsibilities

• Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships.
• Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies (scrapbooking, gardening, games, etc.).
• Prep meals for your clients to enjoy.
• Assist your clients with walking, dressing, and other daily activities of living.
• Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior.
