Job summary

Alvin Community College is seeking a Part-Time Staff Pool member for the CEWD department to support STRIVE students in classroom and job-site settings. Schedule may include days, evenings, and weekends; position up to 19 hours weekly. Requires official transcripts, background check, and a Texas driver’s license.

International credentials must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency. The role focuses on assisting students with disabilities, providing career information, and fostering collaborations

Qualifications

• Requires effective communication with staff and students.
• Ability to assess health, safety, and emotional needs of students and respond quickly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the program Director to provide support services to students.
• Provides information on vocational, career and educational pathways.
• Assist a diverse population of students with disabilities and coordinate with Disability Services to meet needs.
• Establishes positive relationships with students.
• Attend department and division meetings.
• Demonstrates clear written and oral communication.
• Support planning and execution of student classroom job preparation and training sites.
• Submit timely college reports and forms to divisions and department personnel.
• Adhere to Alvin College policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
