Job summary

RISE Services is seeking a compassionate Employment Specialist / Job Coach to support individuals with disabilities in Frederick, MD and surrounding areas. This part-time role involves career planning, job development, on-the-job coaching, and retention support at employer worksites.

You will help with resumes, mock interviews, and workplace skills, with a schedule mainly Monday–Friday and local travel. The organization offers mileage reimbursement and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or others facing employment barriers.
• Strong communication, coaching, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and meet documentation deadlines.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, electronic docs).
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel regularly within the service area.
• Ability to meet background-check and employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess participants’ strengths, interests, skills, support needs, and career goals.
• Develop individualized, person-centered employment plans.
• Identify barriers to employment and connect participants to resources.
• Help participants develop resumes, complete applications, and prepare for interviews.
• Conduct mock interviews and teach workplace communication and professional behavior.
