Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join a multidisciplinary cardiac rehabilitation team. You will conduct assessments, monitor exercise sessions, develop treatment plans, and educate patients while managing a caseload.

The role may support wellness programs and requires a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology; a Master’s is preferred. Certification through ACSM or AACVPR is required within 3 years if no Master’s. Current BLS; ACLS preferred. 24 hours/week on days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or related field required.
• Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology preferred.
• Certification through ACSM (Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist) or AACVPR within 3 years if no Master’s.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor biometric data, EKG, and medical history to guide exercise prescription.
• Conduct submaximal exercise testing and monitor tolerance.
• Develop and modify treatment plans and exercise programs based on outcomes.
• Lead exercise sessions and educate patients on safety and proper technique.
• Document patient status and progress in the medical record; report to providers.
• Coordinate scheduling and referrals for first appointments; ensure timely follow-up.
