Job summary

Lancaster County School District in Weems, Virginia is seeking a Part-time Car Driver to support transportation for staff and students. You will maintain a regular pickup and drop-off schedule, ensure vehicle safety, assist students, and keep accurate records as required.

The role requires a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to work with children and staff in a school setting. Starting date is immediate and compensation is about $15 per hour as a substitute driver.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of first aid procedures including CPR.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a vehicle safely and punctually in all weather conditions, using safe and defensive driving methods.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain discipline and relate well to children, parents and staff and to provide constant attention and assistance to a number of children at the same time, including children with special health conditions or disabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting children.
• Demonstrated ability to give and follow instructions, work well under stressful conditions or emergencies and maintain confidentiality.
• A Driver's License; good driving record; First Aid and CPR courses.
