Job summary

Allied Universal in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a part-time Security Officer – School Visitor Screening to courteously monitor entry points, screen visitors, and support campus access procedures. You will patrol, maintain a visible presence, and deliver strong customer service to students, staff, and guests while upholding safety standards.

The role emphasizes reliability, integrity, and teamwork, with pay at $17.75 per hour and a flexible daytime to evening schedule using our shift-claim

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Be comfortable using computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors and/or vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct screening at designated entry points using walkthrough metal detectors, handheld wands and/or bag inspection procedures in accordance with post orders and local requirements.
• Verify identification, support visitor check-in processes, issue temporary credentials when authorized and direct individuals to appropriate campus destinations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from campus resources and/or emergency services as needed.
• Complete required logs and reports, communicate noteworthy activity to site leadership and help to deter prohibited items and/or unauthorized access through consistent screening practices.
