Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to monitor campus grounds, deter incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, grounds, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors, campus personnel, and emergency responders as needed.
