Athens Technical College in Georgia is seeking a part-time Campus Security Officer to patrol campus areas, monitor buildings, and assist with traffic flow and parking enforcement.

You will respond to emergencies, complete reports, and support campus police and staff while ensuring a safe environment for students and visitors. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with background checks and transcripts as part of the offer process.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience as a security officer.
  • Experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Skills in the operation of computer/software and job-related equipment.
  • Experience in dealing with stressful or emergent situations and demonstrate the ability to use sound judgement.
  • Understand state and federal reporting requirements as they pertain to a state agency.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols assigned areas on campus either on foot or in a vehicle and/or golf cart.
  • Monitors campus buildings for unauthorized personnel during opening and after closing hours.
  • Assists with traffic flow and the enforcement of college parking regulations.
  • Issues parking tickets or warnings to violators.
  • Completes and maintains files and reports.
  • Responds to emergency medical situations, intrusion alarms, and fire alarms.
  • Assists campus police, emergency personnel, and/or college personnel in responding to emergencies and disruptive situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
