Job summary

Seattle University seeks a Part-Time Muslim Chaplain on campus at First Hill to provide pastoral care, lead weekly programs, and coordinate interfaith initiatives while managing budgets and partnerships. The imam designation and a Master of Divinity or related Islamic studies degree are required, with 2–3 years of university experience.

The position is 10 hours per week, onsite, with compensation of $35 per hour.

Qualifications

• Designation as an Imam by a Muslim religious authority.
• Master's degree (MDiv or related) in Islamic studies.
• 2–3 years of university setting experience.
• Familiarity with Jesuit educational values.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care and support to students.
• Lead weekly student programs and interfaith initiatives.
• Manage program budgets and communications.
• Develop partnerships with local organizations and coordinate with Campus Ministry and Interfaith initiatives.
• Educate the campus community about Islam.
• Attend meetings and handle room scheduling and related administrative tasks.
