Job summary

A prominent educational institution is seeking a part-time Muslim Chaplain to provide spiritual and philosophical leadership for the Muslim community. The role includes advising the Muslim Student Association and being actively involved with various campus partners to support Muslim students. Candidates should have a Master's degree in a related field and experience in religious leadership, community organization, and diversity engagement. This position requires evening, weekend, and holiday work/service and travel between campuses.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through completion of a Masters degree in divinity or related field.
• 2 years of experience in chaplaincy or religious leadership.
• Experience in higher education and understanding of young adult development.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Commitment to nondiscrimination and social justice.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary spiritual and philosophical leadership for the Muslim community.
• Advise the Muslim Student Association and provide outreach for Muslim students.
• Work with campus partners on outreach and support for Muslim students and families.
• Support multiple multifaith and Muslim prayer spaces.
