Job summary

Lane College is seeking a Part-Time Building & Grounds Technician to support maintenance of campus buildings, grounds, and facilities. The role involves general upkeep, light repairs, custodial tasks, and assisting with events and safety measures on the Lane College campus.

The position emphasizes collaboration with the Facilities team and other departments, performing duties to keep the campus safe, clean, and welcoming for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
• Ability to operate common hand tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Carry out minor repairs to doors, locks, fixtures, walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, painting, and general facility maintenance.
• Maintain campus grounds, landscaping, and exterior spaces.
• Set up for meetings and campus events; assist with event support.
• Respond to work orders and safety concerns promptly.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards to supervisors.
