Job summary

Eastern Mennonite University is hiring a Student Employee - Barista in Harrisonburg to join the Common Grounds team. You will take orders, prepare drinks, and help maintain a welcoming, clean coffee shop environment for students and staff.

The role emphasizes teamwork, punctuality, and friendly customer service, with 2–3 shifts per week and occasional weekend hours. You must be an EMU student and able to work on campus.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a student at EMU.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Answer incoming phone calls.
• Perform a variety of administrative and office duties as needed.
• Support faculty and staff on special projects.
• Handle general administrative responsibilities for the department.
• Attend scheduled shifts and report on time.
• Uphold EMU values and standards.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
