Berks Career & Technology Center on the West Campus in Leesport, PA, seeks a part-time Cafeteria Worker to join our team.

This 5-hour/day role runs Monday through Friday, 8 am to 1 pm, with some summer flexibility; duties include food preparation, serving meals, dishwashing, and light sanitation while engaging with students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in food service and/or customer service preferred.
• Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with students and staff.
• Operate a computerized POS system is preferred.

Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) empowers high school students to explore interests, gain real-world experience, and prepare for success in college, careers, and life. Serving learners from 16 public school districts across Berks County, BCTC offers hands‑on career and technical education aligned with current industry standards. With campuses in Leesport and Oley, the center provides programs in fields such as manufacturing, construction, transportation, engineering, healthcare, business, communications, and service industries. Students learn from experienced instructors with strong industry backgrounds, earning valuable skills, professional credentials, and access to meaningful career pathways.

BCTC is seeking a part‑time, 10‑month, permanent Cafeteria Worker to join our West Campus team effective immediately.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. Experience in food service and/or customer service preferred. Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with students and staff. Operate a computerized point‑of‑sale (POS) system is preferred. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Food preparation, portioning, serving meals, washing dishes, sanitation and light housekeeping duties.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting/carrying materials and supplies, with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds as part of normal cafeteria operations.

Work Schedule:

5 hours/day. Monday - Friday 8 am to 1 pm with some flexibility (off during the summer).
