Job summary

Framework First, Inc. in Salinas, CA is seeking an Architectural Drafter for our in-house design team. This is a part-time, in-person role at our factory, with 16–28 hours weekly across 2–4 days. You will translate design concepts into construction-ready CAD drawings and support permit submissions.

You will work with AutoCAD, Revit, and similar tools, ensure code compliance and fit with jurisdiction review, collaborating with permit coordinator and project managers to keep plans moving.

Qualifications

• CAD drafting experience with construction drawings
• Familiarity with California residential code or quick learner
• Detail-oriented with accurate dimensions
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Produce and revise floor plans, elevations, site plans, and construction detail sheets for ADU and modular home projects
• Turn design concepts and field measurements into accurate, construction-ready CAD drawings
• Support permit submissions and feasibility studies with drawings that are accurate the first time
• Check every plan set against jurisdiction-specific building code and zoning requirements before it goes out the door
• Partner daily with our Construction Permit Coordinator and project managers to keep drawings aligned with what's actually being built
• Revise plan sets quickly when a plan-check correction comes back, so permits keep moving instead of stalling a project
