Job summary

DwellArc Architecture + Design is seeking a Drafter/Designer for a subcontractor role in Santa Monica, averaging 20 hours per week, with an immediate start. You will work directly with a California-licensed architect in a boutique environment.

Requirements include a BArch/MArch or equivalent, strong AutoCAD skills, knowledge of CBC/local codes, and production of construction documents. SketchUp is a plus; applicants must reside in the Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

• BArch or MArch from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of local municipal codes and the CBC is helpful.
• Experience and knowledge of architectural design, drafting, detailing, building materials, building codes, and construction techniques are required.
• Well organized, precise, and attentive to detail.
• Proficiency in design concepts and presentation, as well as construction documentation, is required.
• Experience and knowledge of Type V projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must. SketchUp experience is helpful.

DwellArc Architecture + Design is a well-established sole-proprietor architectural design studio located in Santa Monica. This position is a subcontractor position averaging 20 hours per week and is available immediately.

Drafter / Designer: This is an excellent opportunity to work one-on-one with a California-licensed architect. Compensation is based on performance and experience. Interested candidates who meet the following criteria should contact us immediately:
