The position requires a Washington CDL Class B with passenger and air brake endorsements, plus five years of pupil transportation experience. Training is two weeks, paid at driver rate, with additional duties when not training.

Qualifications

• Must hold or obtain Washington CDL Class B with passenger and air brake endorsements.
• Five years of experience in pupil transportation with school bus driving.
• Must pass a basic skills test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedules basic in-service and first aid/CPR training for all bus drivers.
• Conduct and/or supervise all elements of school bus driver training programs mandated by the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
• Coordinate and obtain all teaching aids as needed for specialized driver training programs.
• Coordinate all financial obligations and additional driver’s hours with the pre-approval of the Manager of Transportation.
• Maintain and supervise the training records and certification requirements of each school bus driver to assure ongoing compliance.
