Qualifications

• People person who connects with riders and builds positive relationships.
• Adaptable and change-ready to adjust to priorities due to riders, weather, or dispatch needs.
• Strong problem solving with clear communication with dispatch and customers.
• Safety-oriented approach to provide a safe transportation experience.
• Detail-oriented to anticipate conflicts and explain vehicle maintenance.
• Experience in bus transportation preferred; training to obtain CDL available.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate bus along assigned route and schedule
• Assist passengers with mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.)
• Maintain safe transportation standards considering weather and environment
• Conduct daily and weekly vehicle inspections, report defects
• Monitor fare collection from passengers
• Complete paperwork related to bus operation and passenger concerns
• Daily cleaning and bus maintenance

Tri-CAP is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic and dependable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Bus Driver for our transportation services! If you are passionate about serving your community and supporting others, we want to meet you.

About the Role

As a Bus Driver, you will provide courteous, curb-to-curb service to clients across Tri-CAP's service area and assist individuals in maintaining independence by providing a reliable public transportation option. This role requires a balance of customer service, safety-first mindset, and passion for connecting with people.

Starting wage range for this full-time position is $24.52-$27 per hour

What We're Looking For

• People Person– comfortable connecting with others and building and maintaining positive relationships with both regular and first-time riders.
• Adaptable & Change-Ready– comfortable with shifting priorities due to customer needs, weather, etc.
• A Strong Problem Solver– ready to find creative solutions in a fast-changing environment, while maintaining consistent, clear communication with our dispatch team.
• Safety Oriented– focused on providing a safe transportation experience.
• Detail Oriented– able to identify and anticipate potential conflicts or issues, and react accordingly (for example, clearly explaining required vehicle maintenance).
• Experienced (Preferred)– experience in bus transportation is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person who brings the right mindset and drive to obtain their CDL!

What You'll Do

• Safely operate bus along assigned route and schedule
• Assist passengers as needed with mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.)
• Maintaining safe transportation standards (ensuring passengers are secured properly, observing appropriate driving conduct respective of weather and other environmental factors, etc.)
• Conduct daily and weekly vehicle inspections, reporting any defects to Lead Driver
• Monitor fare collection from passengers
• Complete paperwork related to bus operation and passenger concerns
• Daily cleaning and bus maintenance
