The Role

The part-time bus driver position is a critical part of the Meeting Street Schools team.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Drive a school bus, including picking up and dropping off students and staff passengers at established locations around the city.
• Conduct post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure all passengers have left the bus.
• Attend and participate in safety meetings to learn and achieve the highest professional driving skill level.
• Clean bus as necessary to maintain a professional appearance and positive school image.
• As requested, take field trip runs to transport students and other passengers to and from their destinations.
• Commits to constant professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration.
• Models MSS' Path to Success skills and supports the development of those skills in students and peers.
• Other duties, as needed.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old
• High school diploma
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug test, and criminal background check
• Either a Class B or Class C CDL with a passenger endorsement
• Minimum of one year of bus driving experience
• This hourly position has a starting pay range of $20.00-$29.00 per hour.
