Job summary

Family of Kidz in Nassau/Suffolk County is seeking a part-time Bus Behavior Attendant to support students with special needs during transportation to and from school. You will greet students, assist with seating and safety equipment, and implement behavior support plans under supervision.

Responsibilities include data collection, reporting progress to school staff, staying with students on routes, and helping the driver by maintaining a calm, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet students and provide individualized support during boarding and travel
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment on each bus route
• Assist with seating and proper use of safety equipment
• Implement behavior support plans under supervisor direction
• Collect data and report progress to supervisors and school staff
• Help the driver stay focused on driving by managing supervision tasks
• Follow district procedures for student handoffs and emergency protocols
