Job summary

Upper Moreland Township School District is seeking a Transportation Assistant to provide support on district buses and vans, assisting students and drivers with equipment and safety. This part-time role reports to the Transportation Director and requires compliance with district policies and background checks.

The position is based at the Upper Moreland Transportation Building and operates during a 10‑month, part-time schedule, offering weekend and after-school involvement as needed.

Qualifications

• Must complete and maintain background checks as required by district.
• Ability to assist with student transportation equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist student and driver to secure any equipment appropriately on the transportation vehicle.
• Assist in securing student in the transportation vehicle as assigned with driver assistance if needed.
• Monitor student conduct on vehicle, documenting any safety violations or behavior issues.
• Communicates with student, administrators and parents as needed and in a professional manner.
• Attend any in-service training as assigned
