Job summary

University of the Incarnate Word is seeking a part-time Lecturer in Broadcast Meteorology for face-to-face labs and lectures in undergraduate courses. Responsibilities include teaching per syllabus, preparing assessments, and collaborating with faculty to ensure outcomes are met.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology (or relevant area with required graduate hours) or equivalent broadcasting experience, and a commitment to undergraduate teaching within UIW’s

Qualifications

Master's degree in Atmospheric Science and/or Meteorology (or related area with 18 grad hours in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology) or 5 years broadcasting experience.
Previous collegiate teaching experience or broadcast meteorology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare course outlines and teach based on approved departmental syllabi; deliver consistent, interactive lectures.
Prepare and administer timely assessments for assigned courses.
Collaborate with departmental faculty to ensure curriculum outcomes are met.
Be available outside of class to help students learn (1 hour per 3-hour class).
Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and timely record keeping of student activities.
Contribute to respectful relations with faculty, staff, and students in and out of the classroom.
Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
