Job summary

W.W. Grainger, Inc. is hiring a Branch Sales Associate for a part-time, first-shift role (~20+ hours per week) at our Madison, WI location.

You will connect with walk-in customers, guide them to the right products, and help maximize sales while delivering excellent service. Responsibilities include handling orders, assisting with merchandising, performing inventory counts, and ensuring a safe, clean showroom.

Qualifications

• Manage the entire customer experience, from product selection to order entry and loading vehicle.
• Look for ways to maximize sales opportunities and build customer loyalty.
• Adapt communication to emails, phone, or in person.
• Pick, prepare, and stage will call orders and shipping product.
• Prepare backorders and stock replenishment.
• Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
• Perform inventory counts.
• Navigate multiple computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse tasks.
• Maintain branch appearance and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire customer experience. This includes product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking product, and safely loading customer vehicle.
• Maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
• Adapt communication style to different audiences in email, over the phone, or in person.
• Pick, prepare, and stage will call orders and shipping product.
• Prepare customer backorders and put away other stock received.
• Help with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
• Perform inventory counts.
• Learn and operate computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
• Perform housekeeping to meet Grainger standards and safety guidelines.
