Job summary

YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina is seeking a part-time Lifestyle Coach to deliver the Diabetes Prevention Program in Clinton, NC. The role focuses on engaging participants, facilitating sessions, and maintaining program fidelity while supporting retention and goal-setting.

The position requires bilingual Spanish/English communication, HIPAA compliance, and the ability to travel to community locations. Training in related programs may be provided by the YMCA.

Qualifications

• Comfortable with data and possess strong computer skills.
• Cultural competency and understanding of behavior change are required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
• HIPAA certification and DPP Lifestyle Coach certification required.
• Employment contingent upon achieving required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum to program participants in effective, meaningful, and compelling ways.
• Encourage group participation and interaction with facilitation skills.
• Create a safe, nonjudgmental environment for participants.
• Travel to community locations for program delivery.
• Record participant data and track progress in the electronic database.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect participant information.
