Job summary

Pennsylvania Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking Part-time Behavioral Health Technicians to support children in home, school, and community settings. You’ll work under supervision to implement treatment plans and gain valuable experience in the human services field.

This school-year position offers a chance for career starters or Grad students to grow, with opportunities for later advancement and a built-in schedule from mid-August through early June.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education, criminal justice or similar human service field is required.
• Valid driver's license and car insurance may be required.
• PA State Police Criminal History Check is required.
• FBI Criminal Background Check completed through the Department of Human Services is required.
• PA Childline Abuse History Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Support children in managing challenging behaviors.
• Help children build social and problem-solving skills.
• Reinforce positive behaviors and parental strategies.
• Assist children with integration into group activities.
• Collect behavioral data to support treatment progress.
• Assist with de-escalation when needed.

Are you interested in making a difference in children’s lives while building valuable experience in the human services field? We’re looking for part-time Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our dedicated team! Starting as a BHT is a great entry point into the behavioral health field. After gaining one year of experience, you’ll become eligible for other growth opportunities within our organization.

As a BHT, you’ll work under the supervision of a Mobile Therapist or Behavioral Consultant to implement individualized treatment plans in the child’s home, school, and community settings. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children in managing challenging behaviors

• Helping children build social and problem-solving skills

• Reinforcing positive behaviors and parental strategies

• Assisting children with integration into group activities

• Collecting behavioral data to support treatment progress

• Assisting with de-escalation when needed

This is a school-year position, ideal for stay-at-home professionals, graduate students, or anyone looking for a meaningful role with built-in time off.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday | 24 hours/week

• Sessions scheduled throughout the day: morning, afternoon, and late afternoon

• Flexibility required based on client needs

• Position runs mid-August through early June
