Job summary

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Beautician to provide professional hair care services to our Sisters in a faith-based environment at Mount Notre Dame. This role supports dignity, comfort, and individuality, working as part of the Activities Department.

The position is 20 hours per week with a typical schedule Tue/Wed/Fri, offering flexible additional hours. Licensure and prior experience in beauty services are preferred, along with a commitment to infection

Qualifications

• Current cosmetology license or applicable professional license required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Beautician or in a similar role.
• Healthcare, long-term care, or geriatric experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation, infection control, resident rights, and state salon regulations.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage appointments, documentation, and multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional hair care services in a warm, welcoming salon.
• Consult with Sisters to meet individual preferences.
• Create a positive salon experience with friendly conversation and service.
• Schedule appointments and document services accurately.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary salon per infection control standards.
• Manage salon supplies and communicate needs to Central Supply.
• Handle salon payment and billing processes accurately.
• Communicate respectfully with Sisters, families, and staff.
• Support Sisters' emotional well-being with kindness and respect.
• Attend meetings and trainings and participate in surveys as needed.
• Follow facility policies and state/federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
