Job summary

The Harrison Group is seeking a bartender for its Quality Inn Oceanfront location in Ocean City, MD. The role involves preparing drinks, serving patrons, and maintaining a clean, efficient bar area.

You will check IDs, handle cash transactions, and work with the team to provide a friendly guest experience. Mixology training or barkeeping training is required; prior experience is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Receives orders from patrons and wait staff.
• Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered.
• Ensures that fruit and other garnishes are prepared before the bar's opening.
• Maintains the bar and keeps it clean and organized.
• Attractively displays glasses and liquor bottles.
• Keeps bar stocked.
• Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs.
• Collects money from customers for drinks prepared and served.
• Uses proper judgement and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
• Submits orders or creates requisition forms for liquor, beer, and other bar-related supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.
• Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
• Ability to learn cash register software used by bar or restaurant.

Education And Experience

• Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks.
• Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Must be legal drinking age or older.

This hourly wage is based on the tip credit system, where a portion of your pay comes from customer tips. Your base wage plus tips must equal or exceed the wage of $15 per hour. If your combined tips and base wage do not meet the $15 minimum, we will make up the difference to ensure compliance.

The Pay Range For This Role Is

4.50 - 4.50 USD per hour(Quality Inn Oceanfront)
