Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group in Chicago is seeking a Part-Time Barista to join our Cafe team at 311 West Monroe. The Barista will report to the Cafe Supervisor and General Manager and deliver warm, first-class service to clients and participants.

You should have at least 1 year of barista experience, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task in a busy cafe. The role offers competitive hourly pay of $18 plus tips, with opportunities to grow into leadership tasks while upholding our GRIT

• Set up and breakdown conference rooms and refreshing rooms as needed.
• Perform cleaning duties and ensure sanitation.
• Maintain a professional appearance and working relationships.
• Proficiently prepares beverages and knows all drink menus.
• Accurately rings sales orders into cash register and counts back change.

Part-Time Barista

We’re seeking a Part-Time Barista to join our Cafe team at our 311 West Monroe property. The Barista will report directly to the Cafe Supervisor and General Manager.

Schedule & Compensation

• Days: Tuesday – Thursday
• Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Hourly Rate: $18/hr plus tips

What You’ll Do

The Barista will provide genuine anticipatory service to clients and participants in all aspects of hospitality. In this position, you will interact with our clients and ensure they have a great experience at Convene. We need someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as someone highly motivated and ready to work with others. • Set up, replenish, maintain, and breakdown Food and Beverage stations

• Accurately answer client questions about culinary and our spaces in a friendly manner
• Read, understand, and execute Program Execution Orders
• Follow checklists and Standard Operating Procedures
• Set up and breakdown conference rooms and refreshing rooms as needed
• Perform facility maintenance
• Maintain safe, clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas
• Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling
• Have full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information
• Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties in accordance with company standards
• Perform cleaning duties including: wiping down tables and chairs, cleaning glasses, washing dishes, polishing glass and silverware, making rollups
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times
• Maintain professional working relationships with team
• Follows all Company drink recipes and procedures
• Proficiently prepares blended and cold drinks provided by the cafe
• Full knowledge of all drink menus
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Accurately rings sales orders into cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner

What We Look For

• Minimum 1 year of Barista experience
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage
• Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven good organizational skills
• Must be highly motivated and ready to lead other team members
• Proficient in multi-tasking
• Food Hygiene or Food Handling Certificate preferred
• Ability to move, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance

Compensation

Full Time Hourly Rate: $18/hr plus tips

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
