Charles Schwab’s Banking Operations is responsible for processing of money movements, education of policies and procedures related to these money movements, and risk prevention. This role specifically focuses on check operations, including but not limited to check deposits and disbursements. We focus on maximizing operating leverage by integrating functions, increasing productivity, and gaining efficiencies to better position Schwab to compete in the marketplace and to reinvest in areas that matter most to our clients. As a Banking Operations Associate in Check Operations, you will promote client loyalty by providing the highest quality support to our internal and external customers via handling transactions that require attention to detail and priority management. You will be a primary contact for our branch partners and clients, internal partners, and external clients, and provide “best in class” service by:

  • Effectively managingandevaluating risk while depositing funds and processing disbursement requests.
  • Assess and resolve client issues that relate to check transactions by helping clients “Own their Tomorrow”. You will assist clients in navigating through money movement solutions and services available at Schwab.
  • Problem solving and conducting research/specialrequests through the use of internal processing systems, phone and emails.
  • Identifying situationswhereescalation is warranted and the ability to take action quicklyin ahigh-risk environment.
  • Performing workthat is detailed and communicated in a clear, effective manner.
  • Workcollaborativelyand effectively with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactively educate clients and internal partners on our processes and services.
  • Support business initiatives by developing strong partnerships.
  • Work cooperatively with others to produce innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members in a diverse work environment.

This is a part time position up to 19 hours per-week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

What you have

  • 2+ years’ experience in client service or operations with brokerage/financial industry preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn newtechnology and utilize a variety of data and systems to proactively identify solutions to meet client needs.
  • Self-driven and demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Intermediate technical skills, with the ability to use multiple applications simultaneously and efficiently, including Windows, internet research, database systems, and email.
  • Excellent operational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage complex work.
  • Engaging interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and quickly develop a full understanding of the business.
  • Knowledge regarding regulatory, audit, and compliance policies related to the financial industry will need to be obtained.
  • Positive attitude, team orientation, enthusiasm, professionalism, forward thinking, and strong work ethic.
  • Due to the nature of risk inherent in assigned responsibilities, attention to detail and accuracy is required.
