Job summary

Hy-Vee Altoona is hiring a part-time Bakery Clerk in the bakery department. You will greet customers, help them find items, and assist with orders at the bakery counter while keeping products fresh and well-stocked. Training is provided, and a supportive team environment helps you grow.

You will also help finish and replenish baked goods, operate the register, and maintain cleanliness and safety in the bakery area. Shift work requires good communication and reliability.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted.
• Up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk for a long shift.
• Strong communication and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a friendly, welcoming attitude and provide outstanding service.
• Assist customers in finding products, reaching items, carrying purchases, and taking orders at the bakery counter.
• Review daily orders and ensure product freshness and proper stock levels.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods, and operate the bakery department register to process payments.
• Maintain sanitation and keep the work area clean and organized; support other store areas as needed.
