Danville Community College invites applications for an adjunct instructor in Aviation Maintenance Technology. This part-time role provides competency-based classroom and laboratory instruction aligned with FAA and CFR Part 147 requirements, with courses taught on-campus or via distance learning.

Assignments are made semester-by-semester based on enrollment. Instruction may be face-to-face, hybrid, or remote, with day and/or evening classes.

Qualifications

  • AAS in Aviation Maintenance Technology from an accredited institution is required.
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with A&P ratings is required.
  • At least two years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience is required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom/laboratory instruction skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver AMT classroom and laboratory instruction.
  • Supervise projects and ensure use of approved data, tools, equipment and safe practices.
  • Assess student knowledge and document performance per competency standards.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and records.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom and lab environment.
  • Use the LMS effectively and communicate progress with students and AMT Program Manager.
  • Participate in orientation, training, and course coordination activities.
  • Perform other instructional duties as assigned.
