Job summary

Qualifications

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification is required.
• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate or equivalent is required.
• May be certified to teach through CCPS Non-degreed vocational process contingent upon education and experience in aviation maintenance.
• Minimum of three years experience on commercial and general aviation aircraft.
• Ability to instruct and convey concepts through established curriculum.
• Experience with technical manual databases and engine analysis software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a valid Florida Teaching Certificate or appropriate certification.
• Adheres to rules and regulations per Florida Statutes, school board, and procedures.
• Prepares and submits accurate records and reports as required.
• Supports the student learning plan.
• Upholds school rules, procedures and policies.
• Fulfills terms of the written contract unless released.
• Maintains a safe, orderly classroom conducive to learning.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated times.
• Prepares and maintains lesson plans and shows written prep upon supervisor request.
• Works with students to foster a productive learning environment.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and media appropriate to the setting.
