Job Summary
- The candidate is responsible for assisting with teaching all phases of the program including all eight areas of ASE certification for cars and light trucks: electrical and electronic systems, heating and air conditioning, engine performance, engine repair, brakes, suspension and steering, manual drive train, and axle/auto transaxle.
- Assist with monitoring conduct, safety, and discipline during training.
- .Assist with recruiting and evaluating students for the Automotive Technology program.
- Participate in professional development activities, including cooperating with outside agencies. Continue personal training and professional development to stay abreast of changes in the automotive industry.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluating student progress; accurately maintain program and student records.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and a post-secondary credential in Automotive Service Technology.
- Current ASE Service Technician Certifications required: ASE Auto Maintenance & Light Repair (G1), Suspension & Steering (A4), Brakes (A5), and Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6).
- Minimum of 3 years of current experience in the field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to obtain Master ASE Certification required. Master ASE credentials in all areas of cars and light trucks will be required within 18 months of hire.
- Evidence of ability or potential ability to instruct all phases of automotive service technology.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair domestic and import automotive systems utilizing safe and proper methods, techniques, practices, and equipment.
