Job summary

City of Winchester seeks a skilled maintenance technician to inspect, repair, and service a wide range of vehicles and equipment. You will operate diagnostic instruments and a variety of tools to keep fleet assets in safe working order.

Responsibilities include repairing brakes, engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, tires, and performing scheduled maintenance while documenting work and coordinating with fleet management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with some repair experience on automotive and power-driven equipment.
• Experience repairing automotive, light and heavy equipment preferred.

• Tests, services, and repairs vehicles and mechanical equipment.
• Inspects, adjusts and replaces necessary units and related parts in maintenance work.

• Changes and repairs tires and tubes.
• Evaluates status of mechanical equipment and vehicles, and performs or schedules needed repairs.

Education and/or Experience:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required with some experience in repairing automotive, light and heavy power-driven equipment.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Possession of a valid and appropriate driver’s license. Preferred possession of a CDL Class B with School Bus endorsement.
