Job summary

Portland Community College seeks part-time instructors for the Automotive Service Technology program at the Sylvania Campus. You may be considered for substitute or full-term class assignments throughout the academic year.

Applicants must have an ASE credential set (8 certs or 6 with remaining) and a 2-year or higher credential, plus evidence of ongoing automotive education and a clean driver’s license. PCC emphasizes equity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Average of 20 hours per year of documented automotive industry continuing education for at least the last 5 years that meets ASE Education Foundation accreditation requirements
• 2-Year certificate or higher from an accredited Institution with the commitment to complete an Associates degree prior to the end of probation
• Possession of all 8 ASE’s, or a minimum or 6 ASE’s with the commitment to complete the remaining certificates by the end of probation. Must obtain Maintenance and Light Repair (G1) and Advanced Engine Performance (L1) if teaching Auto Shop Lab or Engine Performance courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach automotive courses at PCC's Sylvania Campus as assigned
• Maintain ASE-related credentials and meet accreditation requirements
• Participate in substitute assignments and list PCC courses you can teach during the application process
