Job summary

Penn State University’s Office of Internal Audit is seeking a full-time Spring 2027 internship for students in MAcc Accounting, Undergraduate Accounting, or IT-related programs. This hybrid role requires at least 60% on-site work (three days/week).

Interns will assist auditors with financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits, collect and analyze audit data, ensure policy compliance, and document results in audit reports. U.S. citizenship is required.

Job Description And Position Requirements

Penn State’s Office of Internal Audit is seeking a student within the MAcc Accounting program, Undergraduate Accounting, or Information Technology related programs to fill a full-time (40 hours/wk) Spring 2027 internship position. This is a hybrid position with a requirement for no less than 60% (three days a week in office) of work time completed on-site.

The selected candidate will work in a professional, hands‑on environment that will provide relevant and real‑life job experience. Interns are expected to assist the University’s Internal Audit Department Financial and/or Information Technology Auditors in conducting financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits of selected departments and processes throughout the University. Interns will interact in a professional manner with personnel of areas under review to collect, organize, and analyze audit data; determine if units are in compliance with University policies and procedures; and address identified audit issues. Interns will also interact with audit team to document results and prepare audit reports.
