Job summary

Barstow Community College seeks a part-time athletic trainer to support the health and safety of student-athletes. Under supervision, you will provide emergency first aid, injury assessment, and rehabilitation services across intercollegiate and intramural activities.

This position offers flexible hours up to 30 per week, with no health benefits. Requires Bachelor’s in physical education or athletic training, two years of experience, and current First Aid/CPR, CA driver’s license, and NATA

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in physical education, athletic training or related field, plus two years athletic training experience.
Valid First Aid & CPR certification.
California driver’s license.
National Athletic Trainers Association Certification (NATA).

Responsibilities

Provide emergency first aid and rehabilitation for injured student-athletes during classes, practices and events.
Develop injury prevention strategies and long-term conditioning programs.
Coordinate rehabilitation programs and athletic training services as prescribed by physicians.
Maintain accurate injury and treatment records for athletes.
Ensure proper fitting of protective equipment and assist with equipment maintenance.
Travel with athletic teams to events and practices as assigned.
Assist with budgeting for athletic first aid supplies and equipment.
