Job summary

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking a part-time Athletic Trainer to serve as the preceptor for the Athletic Training Program. The 9-month contract includes 27 hours per week with full benefits.

Responsibilities include supervising graduate students, assisting with program activities, and delivering clinical education under the direction of the Athletic Training Program Director. The department emphasizes hands-on learning in the Exercise Sports Science program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• BOC certification required.
• Wisconsin Licensure as an Athletic Trainer (or eligible) required.
• Related athletic trainer experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Previous clinical teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advises, develops, and implements injury and illness prevention plans for safety during practices, events, and competitions.
• Evaluates, treats and rehabilitates injuries in collaboration with health professionals per established protocols.
• Coordinates patient care and referrals with medical resources.
• Serves as onsite health care provider for assigned teams during practices and events; ensures appropriate response to emergencies.

Education

Bachelor’s degree

Master’s degree (preferred)

Wisconsin Licensure as an Athletic Trainer (or eligible)
