Job summary

Trinity University is seeking a Part-time Assistant Athletic Trainer to care for student athletes on campus. The role involves onsite care, injury prevention, evaluation and rehabilitation under the Head Athletic Trainer, with administrative duties related to the athletic training room.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of intercollegiate athletic program experience; a Master's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• At least 1 year of intercollegiate athletic program experience.
• Administrative experience with operating an athletic training room is preferred.
• Master's degree or equivalent from four-year college or university is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation.
• Provide accommodation recommendations for student athletes with restrictions or limitations.
• Assist with accident insurance claims processing and with training, scheduling, and payroll for student staff.
• Assist with physical examinations and screenings and with drug testing per department policy.
• Communicate with physicians and coaching staff regarding injury status and referrals.
• Help monitor facility safety, weather conditions and environmental factors.
